Early Life and Family Background

Karen Alexa Grasso Montes was born on August 9, 1993, in Guadalajara, Mexico. Her family has a strong sporting tradition, which inspired her to pursue combat sports. Her maternal uncle, former boxer Francisco Grasso, became her first coach and helped her develop her potential from a young age.

Debut in Mixed Martial Arts

Alexa Grasso made her professional debut in 2012, initially competing in boxing. However, she soon transitioned to mixed martial arts and made a successful start under the Elite Submission League banner, earning a purple belt.

Invicta FC and UFC Career

In September 2014, Grasso debuted with Invicta FC, defeating Ashley Cummins by decision and earning her first "Fight of the Night" bonus. She went on to win four more fights in Invicta FC, securing victories over Alida Gray, Mizuki Inoue, and Jodie Esquibel.
