Biography of Kelly Killoren Bensimon
Kelly Killoren Bensimon was born in 1968 in Rockford, Illinois, USA, where she grew up. She attended Trinity College for one year before transferring to Columbia University, where she graduated with a degree in literature and writing in 1998.
Modeling and Career
Bensimon began her modeling career at the age of fifteen in New York City. She appeared in magazines such as ELLE, Cosmopolitan, and Harper's Bazaar. She became the face of the French cosmetics company Clarins and worked as an editor for the magazine Hamptons. Bensimon also authored several books, including "In The Spirit of the Hamptons" and "The Bikini Book." She currently writes a column called "The Socializer: Kelly Killoren Bensimon" for Page Six magazine.
Reality TV and Controversies
In 2009, Bensimon participated in the second season of the reality TV show "The Real Housewives of New York City" on Bravo. However, she faced controversy when designer Celesta Greenberg accused her of stealing the design of an owl-shaped jewelry piece that Bensimon promoted on the show. Greenberg filed a criminal case, alleging copyright infringement and a breach of contract. In another incident, Bensimon was arrested on March 5, 2009, and charged with assaulting her then-boyfriend Nicholas Stefanov. The case stated that Bensimon punched Stefanov, causing significant pain and injury to his left eye.
Personal Life
Bensimon was the third wife of French fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon, who was the international creative director of Elle magazine. They have two daughters, Sea Louise (born in 1998) and Thaddeus Ann Bensimon (born in 2000). The couple divorced in July 2007. Currently, Kelly Killoren Bensimon resides in New York City and the Hamptons.
