Early Life and Career
Ken is a Dutch singer and songwriter who studied at a conservatory. To make ends meet, he wrote and performed musical compositions in small clubs during the evenings.
Breakthrough
In 1977, at a club, Ken's talents caught the attention of producer Christian Kolonowicz. Impressed by his lyrical compositions and vocals, Kolonowicz promised to release an album if Ken could write 10 similar songs.
Instant Success
Within three days, Ken presented 25 songs to Christian. After careful selection, 12 were chosen for the album, "You're Burning." Despite an initial limited run of 40,000 copies, the album sold out in just five days. To meet the overwhelming demand, an additional 170,000 copies were produced.
Hit Single and Chart Success
The album's song, "Sing, Sing a Song," became a massive hit, reaching the top of the charts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and second place in Germany. Ken's success continued with the album selling out and receiving critical acclaim.
Current Endeavors
