Early Life and Education

Kenichi Ohmae, a Japanese expert in strategic management, was born and raised in Japan. He pursued higher education at Waseda University, followed by the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Subsequently, he earned a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Corporate Career

After completing his studies, Ohmae initially worked as a senior engineer at Hitachi Ltd., where he contributed to the development of a fast-neutron reactor. Subsequently, he became a partner at McKinsey & Company in Japan for the next 25 years. Throughout his tenure, he provided strategic consulting services to leading global corporations.

Strategic Expertise and Recognition

Ohmae has built a reputation as a renowned strategic advisor, specializing in the creation of innovative strategies and developing organizational principles for their successful implementation. He has been widely recognized for his expertise in the field. In 1994, The Economist magazine listed him among the world's top five management gurus. In 1995, the University of Notre Dame conferred upon him an honorary doctorate.
