Kenny Ortega, a producer, director, choreographer, and actor, is best known for his work on the film series "High School Musical" and the concert film "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert." He was born on April 18, 1950, in Palo Alto, California, USA, and grew up in Redwood City. Ortega attended Sequoia High School from 1964 to 1968. He has two brothers, and his grandparents are originally from Spain.

Early Career
Ortega gained recognition for his collaboration with renowned dancer/choreographer Gene Kelly, including the film "Xanadu" with actress Olivia Newton-John. He continued his path to fame by choreographing the iconic film "Dirty Dancing" in 1987, winning accolades for his dance numbers in Madonna's music video for "Material Girl." Ortega also worked as a choreographer for Michael Jackson's world tours in the early 1990s.

Film and Television Work
Ortega's directorial breakthrough came with the "High School Musical" franchise, where he directed and choreographed the first three films.
