The Genesis of an Alternative Band

1997: The Dawn

In the midst of the grunge era, a fateful encounter between a guitarist (Mag) and a drummer (Elf) marked the inception of what would become an alternative band. With little more than a broken pioneer drum and an aged guitar, they crafted their first melodies.

1998: A Bassist Joins

A bass player by the name of Vos joined the duo, playing on a simple, restrung guitar. Together, they performed twice at their local school, covering Nirvana songs in the absence of their own.

A Second Guitarist and Internal Strife

A second guitarist, Anton (Kot), emerged, subtly becoming the band's leader. However, disagreements and alcohol consumption led to internal strife, causing Elf and Mag to leave the group.

Summer of Progress

In the summer of 1999, a new bassist, Kolysh, joined. The band dedicated more time to rehearsals and made few public appearances.

1999-2000: Rising Success

The band saw significant progress, performing at major events such as Youth Day (with an audience of 1500), Fisherman's Day, and the Kamchatka festival "Young Voices." They also gained recognition after their performance at the "Starry Chance 2000" festival.

Hiatus and Return

After Kolysh was conscripted into the army, Mag and Elf experienced a creative setback. However, Vos' return helped reignite their passion, and they started writing new material.

Birth of KESH

By this time, the band had adopted the name KESH. They embarked on a series of performances, including "Spring Breakthrough," "Youth against Drugs," and "Rock for the Shelf."

Vocalists Come and Go

The arrival of MC Chill briefly invigorated the band, but he soon left. He was replaced by a new vocalist, Ded, who led them to the "Young Voices" festival, where they were unexpectedly removed from the stage for commercial reasons.

Later Performances

Despite setbacks, the band continued to perform at smaller events, including "Autumn: Time for Revolution" and the "Energy X" festival.

Triumph at the Far Eastern Festival

Three months later, KESH was invited to perform at the Annual Far Eastern Festival in Khabarovsk, marking a significant milestone in their career.
