Early Career
Kevin Doyle, an Irish footballer, began his professional career in September 2001 as a free agent with St. Patrick's Athletic. After initially playing for the youth club, Doyle was invited to join the Republic of Ireland U-21 team within a month.
Success at Cork City
Doyle's impressive performances earned him a move to Cork City in February 2003. During his time with Cork City, he scored 25 goals, including 2 in the Intertoto Cup.
Move to Reading
In June 2005, Doyle signed a two-year contract with Reading for €117,000. Initially used as a substitute, Doyle became a regular starter due to Dave Kitson's injury, helping Reading win the Championship.
Premier League Experience
Doyle enjoyed a successful first season in the Premier League, scoring 13 goals and helping Reading secure an impressive eighth-place finish. However, the following season proved disappointing, with Doyle scoring fewer goals and Reading finishing 18th.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
After returning to the Championship but receiving no offers from other clubs, Doyle joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in June 2009 for €6.5 million on a four-year deal. However, the club finished 15th in the league.
International Career
Doyle's international career began with the Republic of Ireland U-21 team, making his debut against Portugal in February 2004. He received his first call-up to the senior team in October 2005 and scored his first international goal against San Marino in November 2006.
