Kevin Eastler: American Marathon Runner

Kevin Eastler is an American track and field athlete who specializes in marathon running. He is a member of the United States Air Force and represented the country at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Early Life and Career

Born on November 14, 1977, in Farmington, Maine, Eastler was introduced to running at the age of nine. He began training seriously while attending Mount Blue High School. After graduating in 1995, he enrolled at the United States Air Force Academy.

College and Military Career

Eastler graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1999. As a student-athlete, he excelled in both academics and sports, earning several awards for his achievements. Upon graduation, he joined the Air Force and continued his running career.

Olympic and International Competitions

Eastler has participated in numerous national and international competitions, including the Olympic Trials (2004), Olympic Games (2004), USA Indoors (2004), USA Outdoor (2005), USA Outdoor, USA Indoor, USA 30km, World Cup, and U.S. World Cup Trials (2006). He also competed in the USA Outdoor, USA 50 km Race Walk, World Outdoor Championships, World Half Marathon Championships, and Pan Am Race Walk Cup in 2007.

Notable Accomplishments

In 2003, Eastler was named the Air Force Male Athlete of the Year. He qualified for the 2008 Olympics by winning a qualifying race. In Beijing, Eastler finished 21st in the marathon.

Post-Olympic Plans

After the Olympics, Eastler plans to take a break from running and spend time with his family. He will remain a member of the U.S. Air Force and continue to train and compete for recreational purposes.
