Biography of Kevin Nealon
Kevin Nealon, born on November 18, 1953, is an American comedian and actor, best known for his work on the show "Saturday Night Live" from 1986 to 1995 and his role as Doug Wilson in the series "Weeds".
Early Life
Nealon was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Emmett Nealon, an aviation designer. A few months after his birth, his family moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut. He graduated from high school in 1971 and then attended Sacred Heart University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in marketing. During his time at the university, Nealon actively played football.
Comedy Career
After graduating from university, Nealon worked odd jobs while performing stand-up comedy. In 1984, he made his television debut on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson". In 1986, his friend Dana Carvey was invited to join "Saturday Night Live" and recommended Nealon to the show's creators. Nealon joined the show in the same year and became a full cast member for the 1987-1988 season. He portrayed various characters, including Mr. Subliminal, Franz from the Hans and Franz sketches with Dana Carvey, Mr. Deep Thoughts, and the anchor of "Weekend Update" with his signature catchphrase, "That's news to me."
Acting Career
In addition to his work on "Saturday Night Live", Nealon had a successful acting career. He starred in the holiday film "All I Want for Christmas" in 1991 and appeared in movies such as "Happy Gilmore", "Anger Management", "Little Nicky", "Daddy Day Care", "Good Boy!", and "Grandma's Boy". He also had recurring roles on TV shows like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Still Standing", as well as guest appearances on "Monk" and "The Outer Limits". However, his most iconic television character is Doug Wilson from the Showtime series "Weeds".
Personal Life and Activism
Nealon married actress Susan Yeagley on September 3, 2005, in Bellagio, Italy. They have a son named Gable Ness Nealon, born on January 29, 2007, in Santa Monica, California. Nealon is an animal rights activist and actively supports charitable events worldwide. He has been a vegetarian for the past eighteen years, citing his opposition to animal cruelty and the health benefits of such a lifestyle. In February 2006, Nealon was involved in a story about illegal phone tapping orchestrated by a Hollywood private detective.
