Kim Ji-eun is a South Korean actress known for her intense dedication to her craft. Early Life and Education
Kim Ji-eun was born on October 9, 1993, in Incheon, South Korea. Her family has no connections to the entertainment industry; her parents own a restaurant on Yeongjong Island. Ji-eun's aspirations to become an actress emerged during her senior year of high school. After graduating, she enrolled in Chungju University to study theater.
To support herself during her studies, Ji-eun worked various part-time jobs, including as a clothing store sales associate, a cafe and banquet waitress, an event coordinator, and more. Her most memorable experience was working at a fast-food restaurant, where she secured her first job and remained the longest. She admits that it was a challenging time, but now she recalls it with a smile.
Early Career
Kim Ji-eun began her career as an assistant on film sets and starred in commercials for popular South Korean beverages and music videos for artists such as Baek A Yeon, 2PM, and Yesung. She made brief appearances in films and dramas including "Hot Blood Youth" (2014), "Tattoo" (2015), and "Mirror of the Witch" (2016). However, her breakthrough roles came after signing with the agency HB Entertainment.
Rise to Fame
In 2019, Ji-eun starred in "The King's Case Note," an adaptation of the popular webtoon. She played the role of Joon. That same year, she appeared in the drama "Hellbound," in which her character, Min Ji-eun, becomes entangled with a cult.
A major turning point in her career was her role in the miniseries "The Veil" (2021). This spin-off of "Moebius" delved deeper into the stories of Agent Han Ji-hyeok (played by Namgoong Min) and his colleague So Soo-yeon (played by Park Ha-sun). Ji-eun portrayed Yoo Jae-i, Ji-hyeok's partner.
In 2022, Ji-eun starred in "Again My Life," an adaptation of a webtoon featuring Lee Joon-gi, Kim Young-ae, and Jung Sang-hoon. She played Kim Hee-ah, a kind and intelligent law student who harbors feelings for the protagonist, Kim Hee-woo.
In "I Will Give You the Darkest of Nights" (2023), Ji-eun portrayed a prosecutor, Go Yeon-joo, who is determined to expose and punish criminals. Her performance earned her an Excellence Award at the annual Korea Drama Awards.

August 2024 saw the release of "Son of Your Mother's Friend," in which Ji-eun portrays Jeong Mo-eum, a cheerful and ambitious childhood friend of the main characters. On the eve of the drama's premiere, she shared a cast photo on Instagram (banned in Russia as it belongs to Meta, deemed extremist in the country).
