Early Career

Before her breakthrough role in "The Facts of Life," Fields starred in the short-lived comedy series "Baby, I'm Back" and appeared in a commercial for Mrs. Butterworth's pancake syrup. She also had a role as Penny Gordon Woods' friend in the series "Good Times," where her mother also played a character.

The Facts of Life

Fields is best known for her role as Tootie Ramsey in the long-running comedy series "The Facts of Life." She portrayed the character from 1979 to 1988 and gained popularity with her catchphrase, "We are in trou-ble!" During the early seasons of the show, Fields was too young to be filmed from certain angles, so the producers had her wear roller skates to avoid filming difficulties.
