Julius Kariuki

Julius Kariuki is a Kenyan track and field athlete who won a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul.

Early Accomplishments

In 1985, Kariuki won the junior men's race at the World Cross Country Championships in Lisbon. Two years later, he joined the German club USC Heidelberg for training.

Olympic Success

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Kariuki ran a personal best time of 27:25.16 to finish third in the men's 10,000 meters race, securing a bronze medal.

Post-Olympic Career

After the Olympics, Kariuki did not consistently achieve the same level of success. Nonetheless, he managed to finish eighth individually and contribute to the Kenyan team's victory in the men's team competition at the 1989 World Cross Country Championships in Stavanger.
