Early Life
Born on September 12, 1984, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico, Leo Manzano immigrated to the United States at a young age. He began his athletic journey in his adopted country, eventually representing the United States on the international stage.
College Success
Manzano attended Marble Falls H.S., graduating in 2004. He went on to the University of Texas, where his running career flourished. In 2005, he won the NCAA 1500-meter title. Manzano also triumphed in multiple regional competitions.
National Recognition
The following season, Manzano earned a bronze medal at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. He also placed fourth in the NCAA. In 2007, Manzano's career reached new heights. He won a silver medal at the USA Championships, setting a new personal best (3 minutes 35 seconds).
