Biography of Koba Narchemashvili
Koba Narchemashvili is a Georgian statesman and former Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia. He was born in 1969 in Kutaisi. In 1993, he graduated from the Law Faculty of Tbilisi State University named after Ivane Javakhishvili, specializing in "Jurisprudence".
After completing his university studies, Narchemashvili started working as an intern and later became a senior investigator at the Prosecutor's Office in Tskhaltubo. In 1995, he was appointed as an investigator for particularly important cases at the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia.
From 1996 to 1997, he served as a senior state advisor in the Department of Relations with Law Enforcement Agencies at the National Security Council. In April 1997, Narchemashvili was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Between 1998 and 2000, he worked as the head of the Department of Relations with Law Enforcement Agencies at the National Security Council of Georgia. In April 2000, he became the Chairman of the Customs Department at the Ministry of Tax Revenues of Georgia.
From August 2000 to November 2001, Narchemashvili served as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia. Since November 2001, he has been the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
Narchemashvili is fluent in Russian and English. He is married and has two children.
