Early Life and Education

Konstantin Koval was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, on October 26, 1988. As a child, he displayed a natural talent for the arts but did not seriously consider pursuing a dance career. After high school, Koval enrolled in the Kyiv University of Tourism, Economics and Law, where he studied hotel and restaurant management. During this time, he excelled as a soccer player, serving as team captain. However, his passion for dance persisted, and at the age of 20, he began to dedicate himself to the art form. In his final year of university, Koval made the bold decision to drop out in pursuit of a career on stage.

Dance Career

In 2010, Koval auditioned for the third season of the Ukrainian dance competition show, "Everybody Dance!" Despite facing initial obstacles, he persevered and secured a spot in the top 20. Determined to prove his worth, Koval showcased his dance skills, including an impressive jazz routine in which he portrayed a hypnotist who enchanted his partner. However, his efforts failed to garner support from the audience, and he was eliminated.

After the competition, Koval joined the X-factor vocal project's show ballet and later became a choreographer for "Maydans," a dance show aired on Ukrainian television. He was subsequently invited to teach at the Dance Centre Myway and joined the Wonder Crew, with whom he won multiple competitions, including World of Dance, Feel the Beat, and The Challenge. Koval became a renowned figure in the jazz-funk style of dance, attracting the attention of renowned choreographer Francisco Gomez. He conducted master classes throughout Ukraine, Russia, Spain, France, and Germany.

Koval's talents extended to music video choreography, working on projects for artists such as Max Barskih, Michelle Andrade, and Vera Brezhneva. He also joined the theater troupe "Misanthrope" and choreographed the Ukrainian version of "Dancing with the Stars."

Return to "Dancing"

Determined to prove his growth, Koval auditioned for the sixth season of the Russian dance competition show, "Dancing" on TNT in 2019. He successfully passed the preliminary round and impressed the judges with a comedic routine. Audiences recognized his talent and praised his evolution as a dancer.

However, Koval faced challenges in shedding the comedic persona he had presented during the audition. Other contestants noticed his peculiar behavior offstage, and his mentor urged him to become more serious. Despite delivering two emotionally charged choreographies, Koval failed to connect with the audience and was eliminated after two weeks of competition.
