Biography of Konstantin Solovyov

Konstantin Solovyov is a popular Russian theater and film actor known for his roles in detective and melodramatic series where he portrays military personnel, investigators, and other characters in brutal professions. Standing at a height of 188 cm, Solovyov's strong and stern appearance has made him the embodiment of a strong man for television viewers. However, his personal life is unlikely to serve as an example to follow.

Childhood and Youth

Konstantin was born in Moscow on January 28, 1974. His father was a police officer, and his mother was an engineer. Despite his father's profession, Solovyov grew up as a troublemaker. He was even included in the "blacklist" of students who were at risk of being expelled from school. It was not until the 9th grade that Konstantin decided to get serious about his studies and enrolled in a medical school. However, a brief experience working in a hospital made Solovyov realize that medicine was not his calling. He then enrolled in a police school, but dropped out after 2 years. It was his older sister who advised him to try theater. His first attempt was unsuccessful, but a year later, Solovyov was accepted into four different theater schools. He chose the famous Shchukin Theatre School, which he graduated from in 1999. At the beginning of his career, Solovyov went to America. Although he did not land any roles in Hollywood, he had to go through a true survival course - without friends, money, or knowledge of the language. Despite the harsh conditions of overseas auditions, Konstantin managed to participate in several projects and also worked as a fitness trainer.

Theater

During his third year at the Shchukin Theatre School, Solovyov was invited to join the Vakhtangov Theatre. After receiving his diploma, he decided to stay there. He performed in comedies such as "Cyrano de Bergerac," "Promised Land," "The Chicken," and "Charming Cuckolds." Later in an interview, Konstantin regretted leaving the stage. However, as compensation, he built a filmography with over 100 credits and gained unforgettable personal experience, which might have influenced his destiny.

Film

Solovyov made his film debut with a small stunt role in the disaster film "Black Ocean." In the early 2000s, his athletic, masculine, and charismatic appearance was in high demand, and he was mainly cast as fighters, servicemen, and security guards. Some of his notable roles were in "12 Maroseyka Street," "In August of '44," "The Brigade," and "Soldiers." He received his first leading role as a charming doctor torn between two women in the melodrama "Summer Rain." Since then, he has received offers to appear in lyrical and dramatic films such as "Doomed to Become a Star," "Russian Means," and "Rich and Beloved."

Solovyov gained another wave of popularity after his appearance in the series "Love Will Come One Day." He also had successful roles in the detective film "Casting Yard," the action movie "Bars," the crime melodrama "Argentina," and the films "Everything for the Best" and "Looking for a Man." In the sports comedy "Military Fitness," Solovyov's daughter Lisa also appeared. The creators of the series "Bones," an adaptation of the American project, saw a resemblance between the actor and the original character played by David Boreanaz. As a result, Solovyov's character became a partner to an anthropologist named Kostina, justifying the title of the series.

Personal Life

Solovyov met his first wife while studying at the Shchukin Theatre School. His chosen one was an American named Celine, or according to other sources, Ina Barron. Following his beloved, Solovyov moved to the United States and spent 10 years torn between his homeland and the States, as he received multiple offers from directors. During the filming of the series "Lace," Solovyov met actress Evgeniya Akhremenko, the daughter of a diplomat. Coincidentally, she also lived in America. Konstantin ended his relationship with Celine, married Evgeniya, and convinced her to return to Russia. The hasty decision to get married had consequences, and their life together became unbearable. The marriage lasted for 3 years.

During this time, they had two children, but Solovyov does not acknowledge his sons, Danila and Timofey. The youngest Solovyov does not remember, and the older one blames himself for his parents' divorce. Akhremenko cited correspondence with Solovyov's new partner, stating that he considered the birth of Danila a mistake, and Timofey would not have existed if he had insisted on an abortion. Solovyov himself stated that he has no intention of commenting on his ex-wife's publicity.

Currently, Konstantin is married to model and dancer Anastasia Larina. They met during the filming of the series "Casting Yard," where Nastya worked as a producer's assistant. She is 15 years younger than Solovyov. They have a daughter named Elizaveta, whom some publications refer to as the actor's child, while others claim she is the result of Larina's previous relationship. However, Konstantin treats her as his own. In 2015, another daughter, Elena, was born. Photos of his "beloved beauties," as Solovyov calls his daughters, are periodically posted on Instagram.

Current Activities

The release date of the historical drama "Alexander Peresvet - Kulikovo Echo" is uncertain, as the film is being produced without government support, and the funds were raised through crowdfunding. Konstantin found himself in the star-studded company of Vladimir Epifantsev, Sergey Badyuk, world champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and now also a Russian citizen, Jeff Monson, who was cast as a Russian boyar.

In the spring of 2019, the premiere of the film "Balkan Frontier" took place, which is based on events in Yugoslavia in 1999. Solovyov appeared as a commander of a Russian army battalion that was part of a peacekeeping contingent in Bosnia. His character, like the characters portrayed by Gosha Kutsenko and Roman Kurtsyn, has real-life prototypes who are currently active politicians.

Another project set in the 90s is the series "Night Shift. Continuation." Here, the focus is on unemployed women who survive in an era of banditry and a wild market. Konstantin Solovyov transformed into a respectable banker who falls in love with the heroine played by Zoryana Marchenko.

In the ironic detective film "Hero on Call" about a terminally ill doctor who retrained as a police officer, the leading roles are played by Christina Asmus and Yevgeny Miller. Solovyov took on a supporting role.

In the adventure action film "The Doomed Island," on the contrary, Solovyov's character takes a leading position. Together with Oleg Taktarov, he investigates crimes in the Russian province. The specialists from the capital's competing departments find a common language and adapt to the local peculiarities.
