Biography of Konstantin Tarasov

Konstantin Borisovich Tarasov was born on February 11, 1957, in Magadan, Russia. He spent his early years in the village of Myaundzha in the Magadan region. In 1972, Tarasov became a laureate of the All-Union Television Festival of Folk Art as a drummer in a VIA (vocal-instrumental ensemble). Even at that time, he showed great talent playing drums, bass guitar, and bayan (accordion).

In the same year, Tarasov moved to Moscow with his parents. He actively started learning to play the guitar, primarily through practice. He played in small amateur ensembles and the orchestra of the humanitarian faculties at Moscow State University. He obtained the classification of an orchestra artist, which allowed him to serve as a soloist in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Central Group of Troops in Czechoslovakia. It was there that he gained experience in arranging music for large orchestras.

After completing his military service, Tarasov entered the N.K. Krupskaya Moscow Pedagogical Institute, majoring in history. During his studies, he played in small jazz ensembles and vocal-instrumental ensembles, actively performing as a singer-songwriter. It was during this time that he composed his first songs. After graduating from the institute, he briefly worked as a teacher of history and music in a school before transitioning to work in the Komsomol (Communist Youth League) organizations.

In 1987, Tarasov met Oleg Mityaev and began working as an instrumentalist in the Chelyabinsk Philharmonic. He collaborated with Oleg Mityaev until 1998. Afterward, he focused on implementing major projects in the genre of author songwriting. He organized concerts in memory of Yuri Vizbor at the RCC "Russia," "Songs of Our Century," "XX Years Without Vysotsky," and the television program "Flight Over the Nest of the Grouse." Tarasov also recorded albums such as "Crazy Carousel," featuring music by Petr Todorovsky, and "Let Me Remind You About Myself," an orchestral rendition of songs by Yuri Vizbor.

Aside from music, Tarasov has a passion for philosophy and social psychology. He is married.
