Early Life and Education
Mustafa Kaymak, a prominent Marxist economist and historian, was born in Konya, Turkey. After completing his secondary education in Ankara in 1955, he pursued a law degree at Ankara University.
Academic Career
1960:Became a lecturer and researcher in finance and economics, specializing in public finance.
1964:Obtained his doctoral degree.
1964-1966:Lectured at Cambridge University.1972:Appointed Associate Professor at Ankara University.
1975:Worked in the field of health and social security at the United Nations in Geneva.
University Professorship
Early 1980s:Became Professor at Ankara University.1983:Dismissed from his position following a military coup in Turkey.
1984-1986:Taught at the University of Zimbabwe in Harare.
1986:Returned to his previous position at Ankara University.
2002:Retired from academia.
Legacy and Influence
2005:A conference on Kaymak's work was co-organized by Ankara University and the Turkish Historical Society.
