Discovery of BodyOn Sunday evening, the lifeless body of 39-year-old Krishnamaya Mabo was found in a field approximately 450-500 meters from her residence in the Arborfield Military Garrison, Berkshire. The victim, a Nepalese national, had been strangled to death by an unknown assailant who had abducted her from the street.
Police Investigation
Detectives from Thames Valley Police immediately launched an investigation into the murder. Officers detained a 30-year-old man in connection with the crime, and he remains in custody for questioning. The Magistrates' Court has granted the police an additional 36 hours to hold the suspect.
Victim Background
Mabo was the wife of a serving soldier in the Ministry of Defense's Provost Guard Service (MGPs). Her family reported her missing on Monday morning after failing to locate her themselves. A police helicopter and officers conducted an extensive search of the area but initially found no trace of her.
