Christina Schröder: German Politician and Former Federal Minister
Early Life and EducationChristina Schröder was born on August 3, 1977, in Wiesbaden, Germany. After completing her Abitur (high school diploma) in 1997, she went on to study sociology, history, philosophy, and political science at the University of Mainz. She earned her diploma in 2002 and her doctorate (PhD) in 2009.
Political Career
1991:Joined the Young Union of Germany, the youth organization of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
2002:Elected to the Bundestag (German parliament) as a member of the CDU.
2009-2013:Served as Federal Minister for Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth in the cabinet of Angela Merkel.
Personal Life
Christina Schröder is married to Ole Schröder, also a politician and member of the Bundestag. They have two daughters and live in Berlin. She is a member of the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church.
