Biography of Ksenia Makarova
Ksenia Makarova is a Russian figure skater competing in ladies' singles. She was born to Larisa Selezneva and Oleg Makarov, who were bronze medalists in pair skating at the 1984 Olympics, and they also serve as her coaches and choreographers. Currently, Ksenia lives and trains with her parents in the United States.

Early Career and Competitions in the United States
Initially, Ksenia competed in the United States. In the 2003-2004 season, skating at the Intermediate level, she placed 7th at the North Atlantic Regional Championships. In the following season, still at the Intermediate level, she won the pewter medal (4th place) at the North Atlantic Regional Championships and qualified for the U.S. Championships in the Intermediate level, where she finished 15th.
In the 2005-2006 season, in her last competition at the Intermediate level, Ksenia won the North Atlantic Regional Championships but was unable to compete at the U.S. Championships at her level. She then moved up to the Novice level for the 2006-2007 season. She won the North Atlantic Regional Championship and placed 2nd at the Eastern Sectional Championships, qualifying her for the U.S. Championships in the Novice level, where she finished 7th.
Transition to Representing Russia
In 2008, Ksenia competed at the Russian Junior Championships, where she placed 4th. Her first notable successes came in the 2009-2010 season when she achieved podium finishes at both Junior Grand Prix events she participated in and qualified for the Grand Prix Final.
During the same autumn, Ksenia won her first "senior" tournament, the Cup of Nice, surpassing the much more experienced Valentina Marchei and executing a clean combination of two triple jumps. Starting from the 2009-2010 season, Ksenia regularly attends training camps with Galina Zmievskaya and Viktor Petrenko.
