In the 1930s, the artist returned to Rijeka, where he joined a local group of avant-garde artists. He participated in group exhibitions and was featured in the 1936 Venice Biennale.

Marriage and Move to Trieste

In 1942, he married the daughter of sculptor Alfonso Canciani and settled in Trieste, Italy. He became a professor at the Istituto statale d'arte.

The artist's work encompasses landscapes of Rijeka and Istria, still lifes, and portraits. He was also known as a photographer and illustrator.
