Vandervoort was actively involved in multiple sports during her childhood, including soccer, karate, basketball, tennis, baseball, and gymnastics. She excelled particularly in karate, starting at the age of 7 and achieving a second-degree black belt by the age of 16.

Acting Career Beginnings

After several acting courses and minor roles in Canadian projects such as 'Road to Avonlea' and 'Harriet the Spy,' Vandervoort landed her first speaking roles in children's series like 'Goosebumps' and 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?'
