Biography of Laura Robson
Laura Robson is a British professional tennis player and the second-ranked female player in the United Kingdom. She stands at 180 cm tall and weighs 67 kg. Robson is left-handed and has a two-handed backhand. Her preferred court surface is hard.

Early Career
Robson made her debut in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior tournament in 2007. A year later, she won the Wimbledon Championships in the girls' singles category for under 14. As a junior, she also reached the finals of the Australian Open girls' tournament in 2009 and 2010. In November 2008, she won her first professional tournament.

Professional Success
As of October 15, 2012, Robson reached her highest ranking of 52 in singles and 285 in doubles according to the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). She won a silver medal in mixed doubles with Andy Murray at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Robson has participated in all four Grand Slam tournaments, including reaching the fourth round of the US Open in 2012, becoming the first British female player since Samantha Smith in 1998 to achieve such a feat.

Recent Achievements
In September 2012, Robson became the first British female player since 1990 to reach the finals of a WTA international tournament at the Guangzhou International Women's Open. She finished as the runner-up, losing to Hsieh Su-wei from China. In October, Robson was nominated for the "Sportswoman of the Year" title by the Sports Journalists' Association.
Early Life
Laura Robson was born on January 21, 1994, in Melbourne, Australia. She is the third child of Andrew Robson, a senior executive at Royal Dutch Shell, and Kathy Robson, a former basketball player and sports coach. Robson grew up with an older brother, Nick, and a younger sister, Emily. When she was one and a half years old, her family relocated from Melbourne to Singapore, and when she turned six, the Robsons settled in the United Kingdom.
Tennis Career and Personal Interests
According to her parents, Robson began playing tennis as soon as she could hold a racket, and at the age of seven, she joined a tennis academy with the support of her parents. At ten years old, she signed with the management company "Octagon," followed by sponsorship deals with companies like Adidas and Wilson Sporting Goods a year later. Robson has trained with several coaches but eventually settled with Martijn Bok. Additionally, she started training at the National Tennis Centre and switched to homeschooling.
Outside of tennis, Robson enjoys music, shopping, and cooking. Her favorite cuisine is Chinese, and she also enjoys horseback riding. Her favorite movie is "The Notebook" starring Rachel McAdams, and her favorite TV show is the musical American series "Glee." She also has a fondness for books by Stephenie Meyer, especially the "Twilight" series. Currently, Robson resides in London and considers it the best city in the world.
