Laura Trott was born on April 24, 1992, in Harlow, Essex, a month earlier than expected and with a collapsed lung. She was later diagnosed with asthma. Emma and Laura initially cycled together with their mother before Laura pursued the sport seriously.

Champion Cyclist
Trott is a world and European champion in team pursuit. She won the International Cycling Union (UCI) team pursuit race in 2011 and successfully defended her title in 2012. Laura became the world and European champion in individual pursuit and omnium events, winning the women's race at the 2012 World Championships. In the 2012 season, she was named a member of the UCI women's team 'Team Ibis Cycles'. At the Olympics that same year, Trott won a gold medal in the team pursuit, alongside Dani King and Joanna Rowsell. Furthermore, their team set a new world record with a time of 3:14:051. Taking into account their pre-Olympic performances and the Olympic final, British cyclists broke the record in each race, a total of six times. Trott also won a gold medal in the women's omnium, making her a double Olympic champion in her first Olympic appearance.
