Early Life and Education

Born on August 31, 1959, into an industrialist family, Laurence Parisot received her education in law and political science.

Career in Public Opinion

At the age of 26, Parisot became the head of the French branch of the Louis Harris Public Opinion Service. Four years later, she became the director of the oldest public opinion institute in France.

Business Leadership

In addition to her work in public opinion, Parisot assumed the leadership of her father's business after his passing. She holds board positions in renowned companies like Michelin, Eurodisney, and Aavas.

MEDEF Chairmanship

In 2003, Parisot joined the French Business Confederation (MEDEF) at the invitation of its former president. Upon her election as MEDEF president, she declared her core values as labor, entrepreneurship, and pragmatism.

Controversial Views

Parisot is known for her eloquence and analytical skills, as well as her strong opinions on labor relations. Her remark that "it is intolerable to observe that freedom of thought ends where the right to work begins" has earned her a reputation as an ultra-liberal. Despite her stance as a proponent of free-market principles, she also advocates for a fundamental reform of the French labor code.
