Biography of Lia Marville
Lia Marville is a model, television presenter, and beauty pageant contestant. She was born and raised in Barbados. At the age of 11, Lia's father, Don Marville, passed away from brain cancer, leaving her to be raised by her mother, Heather Gibson. Despite the loss, Lia remained an active and energetic child, even joining a dance group called "Dancing Africa."

Lia pursued her education at the University of the West Indies, where she studied law and graduated with honors in 2007. After completing her studies, she interned at the successful Jamaican law firm, Gordon-McGrath, working with notable clients such as Beenie Man and relatives of Bob Marley.

Following her internship, Lia worked at the Jamaica Human Rights Council, where she monitored the rights of inmates on death row in Kingston, Jamaica. However, her true passion lay in the modeling industry. In 2008, Lia decided to pursue a professional modeling career in Cape Town, South Africa, under the contract of Base Model Management.
Lia's modeling career quickly took off, and she appeared in renowned magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Marie Claire. In 2009, she was honored with the title of "Sexiest Woman Alive" and graced the covers of SHE Caribbean and ZING LIAT Magazine. Lia also became a brand ambassador for Dunhill Cigarettes, American Swiss, and Nivea-Visage.
In addition to her successful modeling career, Lia ventured into television. She began her television career in 2006 at the BET Awards, where she met the executive producers of the music project "Wicked Style." In 2008, she joined the project as a host and co-producer for the Barbados and Jamaican episodes. Lia continued her television journey as a producer and director for the Barbadian reality show "Young Execs," similar to the American show "The Apprentice."
In 2009, Lia launched her own reality show, "Passport 246," which ran for two seasons. She also appeared on the program "Splash!" in 2010. Alongside her television ventures, Lia worked as a freelance journalist for publications such as The Daily Nation, The Barbados Advocate, and the Jamaican Gleaner Company. She even secured an exclusive interview with Larry Nimmer, the author of the documentary "Michael Jackson: The Untold Story of Never Land."
Lia's accomplishments in the modeling, television, and journalism industries have earned her recognition and success. Her journey from a young girl in Barbados to a multi-talented and influential individual showcases her determination and passion.
