Leandro Amaral: Brazilian Football Star

Born in São Paulo, Leandro Amaral began his football journey with Portuguesa Desportos in 1997. In two seasons, he netted 29 goals in 73 league appearances, attracting the attention of Italian giants Fiorentina.

Fiorentina and International Debut

In 2000, Fiorentina secured Amaral's signature, beating out FC Porto. In his first season, he made 19 appearances and scored five goals, helping the team lift the Coppa Italia. Between 2000 and 2001, he earned six caps for Brazil, participating in the 2001 Confederations Cup.

Return to Brazil and Club Hopping

After a brief return to Fiorentina in 2001/02, Amaral moved back home to join Grêmio. However, his stay was short-lived, and he embarked on a period of club hopping, playing for various teams without significant success.

Resurgence at Vasco da Gama

In 2006, Amaral signed for Vasco da Gama, where he rediscovered his goalscoring form. In two years, he scored 32 goals in 71 games, earning the "Silver Ball" award for best striker and best player as voted by fans in 2007.

Decline and Move to Fluminense

Despite Amaral's impressive performances, Vasco da Gama was relegated to Serie B in 2008. In January 2009, Amaral left the club and joined Fluminense, where he continues to play regularly.
