Born in Poland, Lech Łasko was a renowned volleyball player who reached the pinnacle of the sport as a member of the Polish national team. His achievements included winning the gold medal at the XXI Olympiad in 1976 and securing multiple national and European titles.

Łasko's volleyball journey began with "Start" Lublin. In 1975, his talent earned him recognition, leading to his debut in the Polish national team at the European Championship. That year, Poland claimed the silver medal, marking Łasko's debut on the international stage.

In 1976, Łasko's career reached its zenith when Poland triumphed at the Olympic Games in Montreal. The team's victory was a testament to his exceptional skills as a blocker and hitter. However, tragedy struck in 1977 when he was involved in a severe car accident. His resilience saw him return to the national team in 1978, where he continued to play a pivotal role.
