Leonid Kuprydo: A Journey Through Entertainment and Media
Early Life and EducationBorn on July 4, 1967, in Soligorsk, Leonid Vyacheslavovich Kuprydo's passion for comedy and performance began at a young age. He was an active participant in school KVN (Club of the Merry and Resourceful) and continued his involvement in the local folk theater.
After graduating from high school, Kuprydo served in the GRU special forces from 1986 to 1988. He then pursued a career in journalism, graduating from the Faculty of Journalism at the Belarusian State University in 1995.
KVN Career
Kuprydo's entry into the world of KVN began in the 1990s as a member of the BSU team in the premier league. His talent for writing and performing soon caught the attention of other teams, and he began to contribute scripts to various KVN participants.
From 2004 to 2012, Kuprydo served as a writer and editor for the Higher League of KVN, the pinnacle of the KVN competition. His keen eye for humor and ability to create engaging content made him a valuable asset to the league.
Screenwriting Success
In the early 2000s, Kuprydo transitioned to television and film screenwriting. His breakout role came with the popular sitcom "Soldiers," for which he was the creator and author of the majority of the show's seasons.
Kuprydo has since written for numerous television series, collaborating closely with a group of screenwriters known as the "Four Tankmen": Alexander Bulyneko, Sergey Oleknik, and Alexander Tykun.
Other Ventures
In addition to his screenwriting work, Kuprydo hosted the Belarusian version of the television game show "Brain Ring" from 2010 to 2015. He also served as head of the script department for production companies Lean-M and Kostafilm before joining Art Pictures Vision in 2012.
Family and Personal Life
Kuprydo married Lyubov Anatolievna Artemovich in 1996. His father-in-law is renowned sculptor Anatoly Artemovich, known for his work on memorials such as the Brest Fortress and the Mound of Glory.
Together, Kuprydo and his wife have three children: a son studying culinary arts, a daughter born in 2000, and a younger son born in 2005.
