Early Life and Education
Born:In 1937Ukrainian scientist Yaroslav Koshevaya embarked on his academic journey by graduating with a gold medal in 1954. He pursued his passion for science at Kharkiv State University, where he specialized in radiophysics and electronics, graduating in 1959.
Academic and Research Career
Radiophysics and Electronics:Koshevaya commenced his career in the field of radiophysics and electronics at the "Electropribor" Design Bureau in Kharkiv from 1959 to 1966. He completed his postgraduate studies in 1965 and successfully defended his Candidate's Dissertation.
Teaching and Research:
From 1966 to 1969, Koshevaya imparted knowledge as a lecturer at the Kharkiv Institute of Radioelectronics. His exceptional academic prowess earned him the position of Head of the Department of Computational Mathematics at the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (NASU) in 1969. He rose to the rank of Deputy Director for Scientific Research at the same institute in 1973.
Doctoral Degree and Contributions:
Doctoral Dissertation:In 1972, Koshevaya's academic achievements culminated in the successful defense of his Doctoral Dissertation.
Radioastronomy Initiative:
His unwavering dedication to radioastronomy led him to establish the Department of Radioastronomy at the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, NASU in 1980. This initiative was strongly supported by Academician S. Ya. Braude of NASU.
