Leslie Hope is a Canadian actress who was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She initially planned to become a lawyer but unexpectedly found herself drawn to the world of acting. It all started during her last year of college when she won a small role in the film "Ups & Downs," a little-known Canadian comedy about private school life.

After college, Hope moved to Hollywood in the mid-1980s. She quickly landed several episodic roles in popular soap operas such as "Berengers," "Falcon Crest," and "Knots Landing." Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, she was regularly cast in various television movies, including notable projects such as HBO's "Sword of Gideon," Herman Wouk's miniseries "War and Rememberance," and the romantic comedy "Ask me again." Although none of these films brought her significant fame, they helped shape her image as a talented and versatile performer.

Hope also continued to work in feature films, securing supporting roles in Oliver Stone's "Talk Radio" and the dramatic thriller "Kansas" alongside Matt Dillon. In 1990, she played a lead role in the farce "Men at Work" alongside Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen.
