Italian Cellist
An Italian cellist, best known for his tenure as a member of the Trieste Trio from 1933 to 1962. After leaving the ensemble, he embarked on a solo career, which proved less successful. His preference was for the chamber music repertoire, and he collaborated extensively with pianists Lodovico Lessona (until the latter's tragic death in 1972) and Roberto Repini, as well as with violinist Salvatore Accardo.
Recordings
The RAI archive contains recordings of Lana performing Antonín Dvořák's Cello Concerto, chamber works by Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.
