Lim Si Hyeong, a South Korean archer, has made a name for herself in the world of Olympic archery. Her exceptional talent and determination have led her to become a three-time Olympic champion in 2024 and a World Champion.

Early Life and Education

Born in Gangneung, South Korea, Lim's journey in archery began in elementary school, where she started practicing as a third-grader. Driven by her passion, she left her hometown for Seoul to attend Seoul Physical Education High School. Lim eventually graduated from the Korea National Sport University.

Competitive Debut and First Triumphs

Lim made her international debut at the 2023 Archery World Cup stage, claiming gold medals in both the women's individual event and the women's team competition alongside An San and Kang Chae Young. She repeated this success in the subsequent World Cup stage. In 2023, Lim became the World Champion in the mixed team event at the World Archery Championships in Berlin.

Qualifying for the Olympics and Setting Records

After securing her spot on the South Korean Olympic team through national selection in April 2024, Lim participated in the 2024 Summer Olympics. During the ranking round on July 25, 2024, she shattered the world record by scoring 694 points out of 720 possible, surpassing Kang Chae Young's 2019 record by two points. Teaming up with Nam Su Hyeon and Jeoung Min Han, Lim and her team set a new Olympic record with 2046 points out of 216 arrows, exceeding the record set by Korean archers at the 2020 Olympics by 14 points. Together with Kim Woo Jin, she also established a new Olympic record in the mixed team event, scoring 1380 points out of 144 arrows.
