Linda Faye Snelson

Linda Fay Snellson, a 51-year-old grandmother of five, has completely transformed her life after the deaths of her partner and mother. Instead of succumbing to despair, Linda managed to take control of her situation and has now set her sights on living another 50 years after her radical body transformation.

A brush with suicide

Linda weighed around 130kg when her loved one passed away from cancer just two days after her mother lost her battle with sepsis in January 2015. Overwhelmed by grief, Linda went to the cemetery where her loved ones were laid to rest, carrying a bottle of pills. For four hours, she cried in the rain, contemplating suicide. However, something unexpected "clicked" within her, reigniting her desire to live.

The journey to transformation

Linda embarked on a journey of self-reflection, formulating a plan to make revolutionary changes in her life. She said, "I remembered the years when I was young. I remembered how we used to eat and decided to go back to those times." She returned to the basics, exercising tirelessly for days on end.

A new approach to eating

Linda now prefers to have scrambled eggs, carrots, and apples for breakfast. For lunch, she often has sweet potatoes with tuna. In the evenings, Linda typically eats vegetables with chicken breast or lean steak. She drinks about a liter of carrot juice each day and has cut out rice, pasta, and white sugar from her diet. Additionally, she consumes plenty of water with lemon and honey.

Home workouts

As the youngest of eight siblings, Linda devotes one to three hours each day to her workouts. However, instead of joining a gym, she exercises in her backyard, tirelessly running up and down three steps. Her routine also includes 100 to 150 squats per day.

50 more years

Linda proudly declares, "Now I am ready to live another 50 years." She believes that her "home tricks" for weight loss have not only helped her shed 50kg but have also "reversed" her diabetes. Linda emphasizes the importance of eating healthy, saying, "You are what you eat. It's true. I used to eat cheeseburgers and chocolate bars. Now I won't even touch them." To appear younger, Linda dyes her hair in vibrant and even outrageous colors, and fills her wardrobe with fashionable youth clothing.
