Lynn Persson: Swedish Biathlon Star
Lynn Persson is a Swedish biathlete who has achieved significant success in both the junior and senior levels of the sport.
Junior Career
Persson's international debut at the junior level came in 2011. In 2012, she represented Sweden at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, placing 6th in the mixed relay and finishing 19th in both the sprint and pursuit. She also competed in the 2012 Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti, earning a silver medal in the women's relay alongside Hanna Öberg and Lotten Sjödén.
In 2015, Persson continued her impressive form at the Junior World Championships in Råbu, finishing 12th in the individual, 5th in the sprint, and 6th in the pursuit. She also contributed to Sweden's fourth-place finish in the relay.
Senior Career
Persson made her World Cup debut in the 2014/15 season, finishing 59th in the sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk. In the 2015/16 season, she became a regular member of the Swedish World Cup team. Her breakout performance came at the World Cup stage in Östersund, where she placed fourth in the single mixed relay alongside Tobias Arvidson. She achieved her best individual result in the sprint, finishing 17th at the Antholz stage.
Olympic and World Championship Medals
Persson's crowning achievement to date came at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she was part of the Swedish quartet that won the gold medal in the women's relay. She also claimed a silver medal in the women's relay at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and the 2019 Biathlon World Championships in Östersund.
Personal Life and Training
Persson has been training in biathlon since 2003. She previously competed in cross-country skiing and football. She represents the Bore Biathlon club and is currently coached by Wolfgang Pichler.
