Early Life and Career BeginningsLisa Arch, born Lisa Kushell, began her acting journey at the tender age of 15 with the sketch-comedy troupe Upstage Comedy. Her supportive parents allowed her to hone her skills in her "living room with no furniture" until she graduated high school. Arch earned her SAG card with a single line while waitressing at Dream On, and soon after, she was making guest appearances on shows like "Seinfeld," "The X-Files," and "For Your Love."
Mad TV Breakthrough and Other Projects
In 1997, Arch joined the cast of "Mad TV" as a featured performer and later became a repertory member mid-season. She gained recognition for her memorable characters, such as the social outcast Susan Whitfield and the spunky country girl Wanda Terry-Anne Lenier Parker from the Parker sisters sketches. Arch also impersonated celebrities including Paula Jones, Farrah Fawcett, Demi Moore, and Melanie C.
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" and Beyond
Arch made her debut on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in 2009 as Cassie, the wife of Larry's "cousin Andy" (played by Richard Kind). She reappeared in Season 10, where she played a central role in the episode "Artificial Fruit," demanding that Larry doodle for a charity event.
Guest Appearances and Other Ventures
Following "Mad TV," Arch had numerous guest appearances and voice acting roles. She appeared in commercials for Mervyn's and Southern Comfort, and voiced Cammie, a carefree bisexual party girl in her twenties, on Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers." Additionally, she portrayed Samantha Samuels on Disney Channel's "Cory in the House" and appeared on "Hannah Montana" as a photographer.
"Dinner and a Movie" Hosting
In 2001, Arch's career took a significant leap when she replaced Annabelle Gurwitch as the host of TBS's culinary-themed entertainment show, "Dinner and a Movie." For two and a half years, alongside co-host Paul Gilmartin and chef Claude Mann, she introduced films and bantered while preparing creative dinners inspired by the movie's theme.
Personal Life and Family
Arch is married to Russell Arch, with whom she welcomed a son, Garrett Mitchell Arch, in 2007. Her older brother, Bob Kushell, is a television writer/producer and web talk show host. In 2009, Kushell collaborated with Arch's husband as a co-writer and executive producer on Sony Interactive Crackle.com's web talk show, "ANYTIME WITH BOB KUSHELL."
