Early Life and Education

Ljuben Georgievski, a renowned Macedonian theatrical director, was born in the heart of Macedonia. Driven by a passion for the arts, he pursued his studies at the Academy of Theatre, Film, Radio, and Television in Belgrade, graduating in 1974.

Directing Career

As a director, Georgievski has graced stages across Macedonia, Yugoslavia, and beyond. He has directed over 160 plays that have captivated audiences in countries such as Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, and the United States. His productions have been translated into over ten languages and performed throughout Europe, including Moscow and Vienna.

Literary Contributions

Georgievski's artistic talents extend beyond directing. He has authored numerous books, directed and written several films, and penned an esteemed column in the newspaper "Dnevnik."

Political Engagement

In addition to his artistic endeavors, Georgievski has also played an active role in Macedonian politics. He is a member of the Executive Committee of VMRO-DPMNE, one of the country's largest political parties. In the 1994 presidential elections, he challenged the incumbent, Kiro Gligorov.

Diplomatic Service

From 2000 to 2004, Georgievski served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Macedonia to Bulgaria. His diplomatic skills and deep understanding of international relations made him a valuable representative of his country.

Speaker of the Assembly

On August 1, 2006, Georgievski was elected Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. He held this prestigious position until June 2008.
