Biography of Lonny Baxter

Early Life and Basketball Career
Lonny Baxter is a former American professional basketball player who played as a power forward and center. He played college basketball for the University of Maryland in College Park. Baxter was selected as the 44th overall pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2002 NBA Draft.

Professional Career
Baxter played for the Enisey basketball team during the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. In February 9, 2006, he was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Charlotte Bobcats in a three-team deal involving Keith Bogans. In the 2004-05 season, he played for the Greek team Panathinaikos but suffered an injury and mutually terminated his contract. He then signed with the Italian team Siena on August 8, 2006. In 2008, Baxter moved to Panionios and briefly played for the Turkish team Besiktas in 2009.

Career in the USA National Team
In 2001, Baxter won a bronze medal at the Summer Universiade in Beijing as a member of the USA national basketball team.

Personal Life
On August 16, 2006, Baxter was arrested in Washington, D.C., a few blocks away from the White House, for firing a .40 Glock into the air. On August 23, 2006, he was sentenced to 60 days in prison for the possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition.
