Lori Rodkin is an American jewelry designer and fashionista hailing from Los Angeles, California. She is renowned for her exquisite craftsmanship and innovative designs in the field of jewelry.
Early Years
Lori Rodkin grew up in Chicago, Illinois, but later moved to Los Angeles. She initially worked as an architect, designing homes for celebrities such as Alice Cooper, Rod Stewart, and her fiancé Bernie Taupin. However, she eventually transitioned to talent scouting and management, representing notable figures in the entertainment industry like Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., and Alexander Godunov.
Entry into Jewelry Design
Following her success in talent management, Lori Rodkin decided to establish her own jewelry brand. One of her most notable creations is the finger armor ring, a unique piece that resembles a medieval knight's finger from a metal glove. Obama wore Rodkin's jewelry, including a pair of earrings with a 61-carat diamond, a ring with 13-carat diamonds, and an exquisite diamond bracelet, during the inaugural celebrations of her husband's presidency in January 2009. These pieces now reside in the collection of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
