Lorenzo De Silvestri: A Product of Lazio's Youth Academy

Born in Rome, Italy, Lorenzo De Silvestri emerged from the renowned youth academy of SS Lazio. His first taste of senior football came in the 2005 Intertoto Cup at the tender age of 17.

Early Appearances for Lazio

De Silvestri made his Serie A debut as a substitute in a 0-1 home loss to Fiorentina in April 2007. He featured in the final match of the season against Parma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Regular Right-Back for Lazio

During the 2007/08 season, De Silvestri established himself as Lazio's regular right-back. He showcased his attacking prowess, making 24 Serie A appearances and 6 Champions League appearances, including three starts.

Tragic Dedication in the Cup

On December 19, 2007, De Silvestri scored in Lazio's Coppa Italia match against Napoli. He dedicated the goal to his close friend and Lazio supporter, Gabriele Sandri, who had been shot by police near Arezzo.

Progress under Delio Rossi

Under coach Delio Rossi, De Silvestri's development accelerated. However, in 2009, a contract dispute led to his departure from Lazio.

Move to Fiorentina

On August 26, De Silvestri joined ACF Fiorentina. He made his debut on September 26 in a 1-0 away victory over Livorno.
