Early Life and Education

Louise Brealey (born March 27, 1979, in Northampton, England) first made her mark as a writer, contributing articles and film reviews to several publications during her school years. She went on to study history at the University of Cambridge before venturing to New York City.

Acting Career

Brealey's acting career began with a challenging audition that she nearly abandoned. However, she persevered and studied under renowned clown Philippe Gaulier at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. In 2001, she made her London stage debut in "Sliding with Suzanne."

Throughout her career, Brealey has taken on a diverse range of theatrical roles. Notable productions include "Arcadia" (2005), "After the End" (2006), and "Little Nell" (2007), in which she portrayed Charles Dickens' mistress. She also played a triple role in "The Trojan Women" (2012) and bared it all in a memorable scene in "Uncle Vanya."

Brealey's first television appearance was as Nurse Roxanne in "Casualty." She gained recognition for her role as Judy in "Bleak House" and later portrayed a pathologist named Molly Hooper in the beloved BBC series "Sherlock."
