Early Career and Lille Success
At the age of 12, Lucas Digne joined the Lille academy. He progressed through the ranks and signed his first professional contract for three years on July 27, 2010. In December 2012, he extended his contract until June 2017.
During the 2011/12 season, Digne became a regular starter for Lille. He made his debut on October 26, 2011, in a Coupe de la Ligue match against Sedan. In the 2012/13 season, he played 44 games and scored 3 goals, including one in the Champions League qualifying round against Copenhagen.
Transfer to Paris Saint-Germain
On July 17, 2013, Paris Saint-Germain announced a five-year contract for Digne. The transfer fee was estimated at €15 million. He made his debut for PSG against Bordeaux on September 13, 2013, but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter.
Loan to Roma and Move to Barcelona
In the summer of 2015, Liverpool showed interest in Digne, but he joined Roma on a season-long loan instead. He reunited with former Lille manager Rudi Garcia and became a regular starter for the Italian club.
On July 13, 2016, Barcelona announced the acquisition of Digne for a fee of €16.5 million. He made his debut on August 14, 2016, in the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla.
International Career
Digne represented France at the 2012 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, reaching the semi-finals. He also won a silver medal at the 2016 European Championship with the senior team.
