Early Life and Career

Luigi Federzoni was an esteemed Italian statesman and journalist born in 1878. In 1904, he became editor of the newspaper "Resto del Carlino." From 1905 to 1913, he served as editor of the "Giornale d'Italia." Alongside his journalistic endeavors, Federzoni also pursued literary pursuits, writing novels, novellas, and short stories under the pseudonym Giulio De' Frenzi.

Political Activism

In 1910, Federzoni co-founded the Italian Nationalist Association. Alongside Alfredo Rocco and Enrico Corradini, he established the weekly publication "L'idea Nazionale" in 1911. Passionate about his nation, he was elected as a deputy to the Italian Chamber of Deputies in 1913, 1919, 1921, and 1924.

Military Service and Governmental Roles

During World War I (1915-1918), Federzoni served his country valiantly. Following the war, he held several high-ranking government positions:

- Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies (March 23 - October 31, 1922)

- Minister of Colonies (October 31, 1922 - June 17, 1924)

- Minister of the Interior (June 17, 1924 - November 6, 1926)

Resistance and Post-War Life

Despite his previous involvement with the Fascist regime, Federzoni played a role in the conspiracy that led to Benito Mussolini's downfall on July 25, 1943. However, he was sentenced to death by the Fascist tribunal in Verona in absentia on January 10, 1944. Following the war, he fled to Portugal and subsequently to Brazil, where he resided until the annulment of his death sentence in December 1947. He eventually returned to Rome in 1955.
