Early Life and Career at Red Star Belgrade
Luka Jović was born in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and grew up in the nearby town of Janja. At a young age, he was spotted by Toma Milićević and invited to join Red Star Belgrade for a trial. On May 28, 2014, Jović made his debut for the Belgrade club, coming on as a substitute in a match against Vojvodina. Just three minutes after entering the pitch, he scored a goal, breaking Dejan Stanković's previous record as the youngest player to ever score for Red Star Belgrade.
International Career
Jović has represented Serbia at various youth levels. In September 2013, he scored a hat-trick for the Serbia U17 team in a match against Croatia. In July 2014, he was selected by Veljko Paunović for the Serbia U19 team participating in the European Championship in Hungary. Jović played in three matches for his team and scored one goal.
Loan to Eintracht Frankfurt
In the summer of 2017, Jović joined German club Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Benfica. He quickly established himself as a key player for the Bundesliga side, scoring 17 goals in 32 league appearances. His performances helped Eintracht Frankfurt win the DFB-Pokal in 2018 and reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League in 2019.
Transfer to Real Madrid
In the summer of 2019, Jović joined Real Madrid for a reported fee of €60 million. He was expected to be the long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, but has struggled to make a significant impact at the Spanish club. In his first season, he scored only two goals in 27 league appearances.
Conclusion
Luka Jović is a talented striker who has shown promise throughout his career. He is a clinical finisher and has a good eye for goal. However, he has yet to fully fulfill his potential at Real Madrid. With his young age and determination, he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in Europe.
