Biography of Lukas Kaspar

Lukas Kaspar is a Czech ice hockey player and forward. He began his professional career in 2003, playing for his hometown team, HC Litvinov, after several seasons with the farm club of a Czech club.

In the following year, Lukas was selected in the first round, 22nd overall, by the San Jose Sharks in the NHL Draft. He then made his way to North America, scoring his first NHL goal on October 12, 2008, against the Los Angeles Kings after four years of playing in the league.

On July 21, 2009, Kaspar signed a two-year two-way contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. Later that same year, on November 4, Lukas signed an agreement for the rest of the season with the SM-Liiga club Karpat.

In June 2010, Kaspar became a player for Barys Astana, a team in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). In the 2010/11 season, he proved to be one of the most productive players, accumulating 42 points (24 goals and 18 assists) in 55 games.

Lukas Kaspar has also represented the Czech Republic in international competitions. He participated in the Junior World Championship in 2003 and the World Junior Championships in 2004 and 2005, where he won a bronze medal. At the senior level, Lukas played in the World Championship in 2010, where he won a gold medal with the team. Since 2009, Kaspar has been regularly called up to play for the national team in Euro Hockey Tour matches.

In addition to his achievements on the ice, Lukas Kaspar was selected as a participant in the KHL All-Star Game in 2011.
