Luke Evans is a Welsh actor and singer who has found success both on stage and on screen. Despite starting his acting career relatively late, Evans has managed to secure numerous successful roles and establish himself as a highly talented and skilled actor.

Early Life and Education
Luke Evans was born and raised in Aberbargoed, Caerphilly, Wales. He was the only child of Yvonne and David Evans. Raised in accordance with the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, Evans left the religion and school at the age of 16. At 17, he moved to Cardiff and studied under vocal coach Louise Ryan. In 1997, Evans won a scholarship to the London Studio Centre and completed his education in 2000.

Stage Career
From 2007 to 2008, Evans appeared in several major West End productions, including "La Cava," "Taboo," "Rent," "Miss Saigon," and "Avenue Q." He also performed in various London productions and at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2008, he landed his breakthrough theater role as Vincent in Peter Gill's "Small Change" at Donmar Warehouse, which brought him widespread popularity and caught the attention of American casting agents.

Film Career
Evans made his film debut in 2009, playing Apollo in "Clash of the Titans." That same year, he portrayed Clive in "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll" and one of the bandits of the Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood." He is also known for his role in "Tamara Drewe" as well as his lead role in the independent film "Flutter" directed by Giles Borg. In 2011, he starred alongside Jason Statham and Paddy Considine in "Blitz" and played Aramis in "The Three Musketeers." He also portrayed Zeus in "Immortals" and appeared in "The Raven" alongside John Cusack in 2012. Evans played Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" trilogy and portrayed a negative character in "Fast & Furious 6" in 2013.
