Early Career and Ajax Arrival

Stekelenburg's football journey began with Zandvoort before he moved to VV Shoten. At the age of 15, he joined Ajax's youth academy.

Debut and Early Trophies

On February 24, 2002, Stekelenburg made his official debut for Ajax against NAC Breda. He won his first trophy in the 2002-2003 season, claiming the Johan Cruijff Schaal (Dutch Super Cup).

Rising Star and National Team Debut

In 2004, Stekelenburg played a key role in Ajax's Eredivisie victory, making 10 appearances. The 2005-2006 season saw him become the team's first-choice goalkeeper and lift his first KNVB Cup (Dutch Cup).
