Biography of Mädchen Amick
Mädchen Amick is an American actress born on December 12, 1970, in Sparks, Nevada, USA. She is best known for her role as Shelly Johnson in the cult television series "Twin Peaks" and its 1992 prequel, "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me".

Early Life and Career
Amick, the daughter of German parents, Judy, a medical office manager, and Bill Amick, a musician, received her unique name from the German word "medchen," which means "girl". At a young age, she began to explore her creative abilities with the support of her parents. She learned to play the guitar, piano, and violin, and took ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance lessons.

At the age of 16, Amick moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, initially working in the modeling business and appearing in small video clips. In Los Angeles, she made appearances in the television series "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and the science fiction film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" in 1991.

Rise to Fame
However, Amick's breakthrough came when director David Lynch chose her to play waitress Shelly Johnson in the mysterious television series "Twin Peaks". The character endured terrible treatment from her husband Leo and became one of the show's most popular characters, securing Amick a role in the continuation of Lynch's creation in the film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" in 1992.

In 1992, Amick continued to challenge herself with nerve-wracking films. She portrayed Tanya Robertson in Stephen King's horror film "Sleepwalkers". She then appeared in the telefilm "Love, Cheat & Steal" before experiencing a turning point in her film career with a starring role in Nicholas Kazan's directorial work, "Dream Lover".
Television Success
Returning to television, Amick worked on series such as "Central Park West" in 1995 and "Fantasy Island" in 1998, in which she played the leading role. Unfortunately, both projects only lasted one season on air. Amick's talent for multi-episode projects was evident in her roles in "Gilmore Girls", "ER", as well as in the series "Jake in Progress" and "Joey".
Amick became a guest star in the suspenseful TV series "Kidnapped", portraying a strange and ruthless killer. Her list of television appearances also includes the popular teen drama "Dawson's Creek" and the musical drama "Viva Laughlin".
Personal Life
From her personal life, it is known that Amick's parents divorced when she was 2.5 years old. She was married to musician David Alexis from 1992 and they have two children together.
In the near future, Amick will be seen in the film "Priest", starring Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet.
