Madison Taylor Kocian - American Gymnast and Olympic Medalist

Madison Taylor Kocian, born on June 15, 1997, in Dallas, Texas, is an American gymnast who has achieved great success in her career. She is an Olympic champion in the team competition and a silver medalist in the uneven bars event. Kocian is also a three-time world champion.

Early Life and Gymnastics Career

Madison Kocian was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, to parents Thomas and Cindy Kocian. She was introduced to gymnastics at a very young age and began training at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) in Plano when she was just five years old. WOGA, founded by Valeri Liukin, has produced Olympic champions in the past, including Carly Patterson and Nastia Liukin, who served as inspirations for Kocian. She considers Nastia her older sister figure. Kocian also has a younger brother.

During her early years, Kocian attended Spring Creek Academy in Plano, where both Carly Patterson and Nastia Liukin had previously studied. In 2015, she graduated from high school and enrolled at the University of California in the fall of 2016, utilizing her eligibility from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

International Success

In 2014, it was announced that Madison Kocian would be part of the US team at the upcoming 2014 World Championships in Nanning, China. At the championships, the US gymnasts won the team competition, crowning Kocian as a world champion in the process.
